LIST: Chemical Engineering Board Exam Top 1 from 2015 to 2019

Held twice every year usually in May and November, PRC’s Chemical Engineering Licensure Examination is the final arbiter if one can practice legally the chemical engineering profession in the Philippines. Graduates of the more than 30 chemical engineering schools around the country can take the exam and obtain their professional license once they pass the test.

As provided in the Republic Act No. 9297 or The Chemical Engineering Law of 2004, the scope of the board exam is 40% Chemical Engineering, 30% Physical and Chemical Principles, and 30% General Engineering which is typically given in three days. The Board of Chemical Engineering prepares the examination items.

The same law also states that the general average to pass the board exam is 70% with no less than 50% in any examination subject.  

Based on data from the Professional Regulation Commission, the average passing rate in the Chemical Engineering Licensure Examination is 60% between 2015 and 2019, with number of takers ranging between 400 to 1,200 per test.
